When we took on the renovation of our Magazine Street location, we didn't approach it like a cosmetic refresh. Magazine Street has stories in its bones. Decades of history and character that you can't replicate are woven through this space. The Preservation Resource Center saw that approach and recognized it. The work we did to respect the building's past while building something new mattered to them, and it matters to us.
Historic preservation isn't about keeping things frozen in time. It's about honoring what came before while making space for what's next. Our Magazine Street shop is a living example of that balance. We kept the soul of the historic building by preserving the original details that give it character, while installing everything needed to roast and serve great coffee. The bones are old. The mission is new. Both deserve respect.
That recognition from the Preservation Resource Center is a reminder that good work gets noticed, even when you're just trying to do right by your neighborhood and your building. New Orleans has always been about respecting what came before while making something of your own. That's what we're doing, one cup at a time.
