Our Coffee
Antique Roasted. Gulf Coast Born.
Since 2009, Coast Roast Coffee has been roasting on antique 1910s Royal No. 6 drum roasters on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Every batch is roasted slow and roasted right. You can taste the difference, and there's a reason for it.
Our Story
Roasting Since 2009
Kevin Pedeaux and Shawn Montella founded Coast Roast Coffee in 2009 with a simple mission: roast exceptional coffee on authentic, antique equipment. They sourced their roasters from estate sales, beautiful 1910s Royal No. 6 drum roasters, that are still used today on the Gulf Coast. Every pound of coffee that comes through CR Coffee still touches those same machines.
The Lineup
Our Blends
Streetcar Blend
Medium Roast | Our House Coffee
Bold. Balanced. Built for New Orleans.
Streetcar is the medium roast we serve every day at all CR Coffee Shop locations. It's rich, full-bodied, and reliably smooth. This isn't your typical light-bodied medium roast. Streetcar hits with satisfying richness in the cup, a velvety texture, and just a touch of brightness to keep things lively. The kind of coffee that pairs beautifully with breakfast, a quiet moment, or your favorite corner table.
Tasting Notes: Full body, light acidity, smooth and satisfying finish.

Dark Roast
Dark and smoky, without the burn.
Our French Roast is fired on CR's antique Royal drum roasters, then finished with a tighter airflow that traps a touch more smoke inside the drum. The result is a bold, aromatic cup: dark roast, but not as dark as you think. It has smooth depth instead of char. The Royal No. 6 drums spin slowly, letting sugars caramelize before the beans ever get oily. Fans who thought they "didn't like dark roast" keep coming back; the cup is rich, full-bodied, and finishes clean.
Tasting Notes: Smoked cocoa, dark caramel, hint of charred cedar.

Coffee & Chicory
A classic, re-imagined for today.
St. Roch Blend delivers the nostalgia of a New Orleans coffee-and-chicory cup while trading the heavy, bitter style for balanced sweetness and cocoa depth. The roast sits in a smooth full-city range, and the chicory ratio is trimmed so flavor stays round and lively. Coffee leads with rich cocoa; chicory adds a gentle caramel note rather than an overpowering bite. Born at St. Roch Market and now poured at every CR Coffee Shop location.
Tasting Notes: Cocoa body, caramelized chicory sweetness, soft balanced finish.
Brew Tip: Great by drip, French press, or classic New Orleans café au lait. Mix equal parts hot coffee and steamed milk for the authentic New Orleans experience.

Cold Brew
Rich, smooth, and ready for New Orleans heat.
Brew the same lush cold brew we pour every day at CR Coffee Shop right at home. Our Cold Brew Blend is designed for a full-bodied, chocolate-smooth cup that stays refreshing even when the temperature soars. Fans drink it 12 months out the year because it's that easy-going and satisfying. One 12 oz bag makes a full quart of concentrate. The blend's heavy body and naturally sweet finish let you skip the sugar or dress it up with vanilla cream as you prefer.
Tasting Notes: Smooth cocoa body, hints of dark caramel, clean mellow finish.
Brew Tip: Grind coarse, steep 12 hours, cut 1:1 with water or milk, and you're good to go.

Espresso
Classic character, New Orleans soul.
Our Espresso Blend is roasted daily on CR's pair of 100-year-old Royal No. 6 drum roasters using a slower, gentler method that coaxes out a naturally sweeter, smoother cup. The result is a northern-Italian-inspired espresso that still delivers the rich, heavy-bodied flavor New Orleans coffee lovers expect. A creamy base of chocolate and toasted almond finishes with a subtle, fruit-like brightness. Built for milk. The cocoa sweetness cuts cleanly through steamed milk, giving lattes and cappuccinos a silky, dessert-like balance. 100% Arabica, carefully layered Central and South American coffees.
Tasting Notes: Bittersweet cocoa, dark caramel, hints of stone fruit, velvety lingering finish.

Sourcing
Green Beans Sourced Right
We source our green beans through local importers at the Port of New Orleans and maintain direct relationships with coffee farms. New Orleans is the second-largest coffee port in the United States, and we're proud to roast coffee that moves through our home port, keeping the entire supply chain connected to the Gulf South.
