It starts with matcha whisked by hand in a traditional ceramic bowl using a bamboo chasen. The W-shaped whisking motion builds layers of foam and pulls that deep green color out of the powder. No shortcuts, no machine froth.
The cherry blossom powder is imported from Japan and mixed into milk to create the pink base. Add vanilla, pour it over ice, then float the matcha on top. The result is two distinct layers: pink on the bottom, green on top, with dried cherry blossoms scattered across the surface.
The flavor is floral without being perfumy, lightly sweet from the vanilla, and grounded by the matcha's earthiness. It looks as good as it tastes, which is saying something.
