King cake season in New Orleans runs from King's Day on January 6th through Fat Tuesday. Every year, CR Coffee partners with Nonna Randazzo's Bakery to stock king cakes at all three locations — St. Roch Market, Magazine Street, and Metairie.
The partnership started at the Magazine Street pop-up during Carnival 2017 and has been an annual tradition since. Nonna Randazzo's makes king cakes in original, cream cheese, pecan, and strawberry flavors. Paired with a Coast Roast coffee, it is the official breakfast of Mardi Gras season at CR Coffee.
During Carnival, king cakes are available daily at all locations. The demand is real — they sell out regularly, especially in the final days before Fat Tuesday. CR Coffee has become a go-to stop for people heading to parades, hosting watch parties, or just celebrating the season the New Orleans way.
The last king cakes of the season go out the door on Fat Tuesday morning. Then it is Lent, and king cake season is officially over until next year. If you want one, do not wait.
