Fat Tuesday is the end of Carnival season, and CR Coffee closes for the day — because even coffee shops celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The last Nonna Randazzo's king cakes go out the door in the morning, and then the season is officially over.
Fat Tuesday 2022 was the first full Carnival since before COVID. The city came back hard. Parades were running again, second lines were moving through the streets, and king cake consumption was at an all-time high. CR Coffee's locations sold through their Randazzo's inventory by mid-morning.
There is something about Fat Tuesday that captures the entire CR Coffee experience in one day: community, tradition, indulgence, and the knowledge that tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the party is over. Make it count.
